NEFAIRE | CUSTOM FOOD FOR YOUR SKIN

Yesterday, I received an EXPRESS FACIAL at NEFAIRE in Westport, CT, and it was one of the best experiences I've had at a spa. The holistic, custom approach to skincare, focuses not only on your key concerns, but the factors that could be causing them - such as your environment, diet and genetics. This refreshing take and formulation, left me wanting more, right away.

NEFAIRE'S PROCESS

Upon my arrival, head ethetician, Wen, discussed NEFAIRE's unique evaluation process of their patients, and started delving into my skin's shortcomings, and what I wanted to gain from my treatment. This was followed up by taking their FEED YOUR SKIN quiz. I love this aspect of NEFAIRE; not only does it ask questions you may not think to bring up, but it digs into environmental, diet and genetic correlations as to why your skin is the way it is. Too boot - you create a profile, so all of your data is saved. You can even book future appointments, place product orders, and review your therapists notes, per session - all housed in one easy-to-use, central platform.

INGREDIENTS USED FOR MY CUSTOM FACIAL

Once Wen knew what needed to be addressed, she whipped up a custom regimen for my

EXPRESS FACIAL. Both my quiz and personal preference, resulted in a goal to clear the few stubborn pimples that had popped up after a night of drinking. The ingredients she used to attain this, are pictured above, and described below.

ALOE

Containing antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, Aloe is highly anti-inflammatory, and can help treat burns, acne and dry skin; as well as cleanse away impurities.

CHARCOAL

Charcoal draws bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt and other micro-particles to the surface of skin, all while fighting acne, to give you a clear, glowing complexion.

KAOLIN CLAY

The detoxifying properties of Kaolin Clay make it a smart choice for acne ridden skin. It also helps to mildly exfoliate, as it purges toxins through the pores. Making it ideal for sensitive candidates.

MANILA ELEMI

Aside from it's anti-aging properties, Manila Elemi is also known to balance skin's natural oils; making it a perfect fit for oily and/or combination skin types. It also reduces acne scarring and eliminates blackheads.

MANUKA HONEY

Manuka is a natural anti-bacterial agent with anti-inflammatory properties to both cleanse and calm skin.

MATCHA

Matcha reduces inflammation, clears pores, exfoliates dead skin cells, and rejuvenates complexions for a toned, fresh face.

ROSE

Rose water helps to maintain skin's pH balance, hydrates, tones, clears pores and controls oil production.

TEA TREE OIL

Tea Tree Oil's anti-bacterial nature helps reduce swelling and irritation of the skin.

After my treatment, Wen made sure to highlight the factors she thought were the culprit for my recent mini-breakout, and what I can do to better my skin in the future - aside from monthly facials. She mentioned my body seems to be hyper-sensitive to alcohol - which means I need to hydrate even more than the average person, after a indulging in a drink or two. The alcohol dehydrated my skin to the extent that I started to produce excess sebum, resulting in irritated, clogged pores. After taking a peak into my diet, she noted eating candy daily is never a good idea, as it spikes my body's insulin levels, leading to inflammation - and wrinkles. Yikes! May be going sans candy for a while - or, at least trying to. Lastly, she questioned my stress levels. I chuckled to myself before even answering. Then took a deep breath and said, yes, I am stressed. I am a marketing director by day, running my blog, planning a wedding, and still trying to be the best family member and friend I can be. There just never seems to be enough hours in each day. She told me to take each day at a time and try and focus on tasks at hand.

All in all, I have nothing but a glowing review and face, after my session with NEFAIRE. Wen was able to achieve the end result I desired, and I will definitely be going back. For those of you who are local, be sure to check this place out. I promise, you won't regret it!
