Stretch studios are the latest craze - are they worth it? Yes! Stretching has the ability to improve blood circulation, mobility and flexibility. Sign me up.
I am not the most athletic, and I certainly do not stretch on a regular basis - however, LYMBR was a savior for my aching body. Hours spent in front of the computer - on a daily basis - wrecks havoc on my on my posture - affecting my neck an back. You can imagine how thrilled I was when LYMBR reached out and asked if I wanted to come into their Darien studio to test out their services.
LYMBR's mission is to fill a void in the growing boutique and everyday fitness industries where more and more people are spending time in gyms, studios and registering for races...this increase in attention to getting more fit, is not always followed by recovery. Whether you go to relax, perform better in your activity, or recover from daily stresses – LYMBR helps you reach your goals. #BELYMBR
For my first session, Cara - the Darien manager - conducted a Postural Assessment, Gate Analysis, and Hip Assessment - they resulted in the conclusion of an Anterior Pelvic Tilt. This gave me answers on why I have been experiencing lower back pain. To address my pain, Cara performed a series of stretches - spanning over hour - to correct my lower body. They targeted my glutes, adductors, calf muscles and hamstrings.
During our second 60 minute session, Cara worked on my upper body. The first thing that she observed is how rounded my shoulders are. She worked on a series of stretches to loosen up my arms, upper back and neck. The neck stretches were by far my favorite, not only did they feel amazing, but I actually fell asleep.
After each session, I left the studio feeling like a million bucks - not exaggerating. My body was released from being contorted, tight, and in poor posture. The LYMBR Method of Progressive Stretching is a proprietary technique of guided stretching, administered by highly-trained therapists. LYMBR therapists take you through a series of movements targeting individual muscles within a specific grouping of the body. This is done through multiple reps, that are help for only a few seconds at a time, followed by a recovery period. This process makes the sessions both relaxing and comfortable. I will definitely be going back for additional sessions in the near future.
If you think stretching isn't for you, because you don't work out or partake sports, think again. I highly recommend this for those who aren't active - as I am not the most active person as of late, and these sessions were far more helpful than any massage I have received in order to alleviate my pain points.
